Principles of Roleplay

Roleplay is the foundation of MercuryRP. It is essential to follow these principles to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone.

RDM (Random Deathmatch)

Killing another player without prior roleplay or verbal threats is not allowed.

VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch)

Using a vehicle to run someone over without a valid reason is prohibited. Self-defense is allowed.

NLR (New Life Rule)

When you respawn after death or head injury, forget the events of the past 15 minutes. Do not return to the location of your death or seek revenge.

Powergaming

Do not perform unrealistic acts to alter the roleplay scene or force specific outcomes on other players. Make the roleplay enjoyable for everyone.

Metagaming

Metagaming involves using out-of-character (OOC) information to impact in-character (IC) choices during gameplay. This might mean using insights from external platforms like Discord voice or text chats to unfairly benefit your gameplay.

Fear RP

If outnumbered or held at gunpoint, fear for your character's life and comply with the situation.

Fail RP

Follow roleplaying rules and avoid unrealistic actions, such as breaking character, repairing your car during a pursuit, or shooting at vehicles without reason.

Revenge RP

Do not pursue and kill a player who killed you in a previous life.

Exploiting

Abusing game mechanics or commands for unfair advantages, such as phasing through walls or canceling weapon animations, is not allowed.

Combat Logging

Leaving the server to avoid roleplay scenes, chain snatch or jail time is prohibited.

Failure To Initiate

Shooting at someone without 45 seconds of RP, saying “100k or die” or some terms to initiation improperly.

Combat Rules

  5. If you are "with someone", you must announce it before any violence begins, not after (e.g., you cannot announce that you're with someone once; they're already dead, two parties have already started a shootout, two parties are punching each other with intent to kill [4+ punches], - If you are within the same gang and are wearing the proper clothing, you can ignore this. If you're clearly with a group of individuals [determined by staff if any reports arise], you can ignore this).
  6. Killing or robbing another player requires at least 45 seconds of roleplay.
  7. Initiating within green zones is prohibited.
  8. Do not go around randomly punching other players whether it be once or four times, initiate properly as this can result in a ban for NITRP (no intent to roleplay) or instant initiation.
  9. Do not glitch punch.
  10. If a player steals your vehicle, you must threaten their life before resorting to violence (e.g., get out my vehicle before I kill you!)
